Model 10541 Regular Tweezer Handpiece

10541

User Information and Instruction Sheet
Summary: Resistance heat is obtained by passing a safe, low voltage, high amperage current through a resistive alloy. As with all Resistance Soldering Handpieces, heat is generated local to the work-piece. Current is present for only so long as power is applied to the Handpiece and there is a path for the current from the Power Unit, through the Handpiece and back to the Power Unit.

Description: Regular Tweezer-Style Handpiece. The Model 10541 Handpiece is supplied with two, .079" diameter Copper-clad Stainless Steel Electrodes, for regular applications. This handpieces has a four-foot (1.22 m) 14-2 HPN neoprene cable with taper pin quick connect terminals, for connection to American Beauty® Power Units (push in turning clockwise until snug). The handpiece is light-weight and has padded handles for operator comfort. The tweezer-type design provides the operator with the ability to grip several parts at once while heating.
  • Do not exceed 200 watts
  • Maximum wattage that is shown reflects a 20-second maximum allowable heating duration. For shorter heating durations, higher wattages may be allowable.

Uses: This American Beauty® Soldering handpiece will instantly provide intense localized heat, to create accurate and trustworthy solder joints, in regular, small or even fairly delicate soldering applications. It was developed for use on soldering applications, like small multi-pin military connectors, wire terminations, through-hole PCB components, attaching connector pins to fiber optic leads, or other connections of similar size. Model 10541 for small applications, is ideal for micro-miniature setups, wire processing and small components and connections. This handpiece provides for fast, repetitive joint soldering on terminals, BNC connectors and similar-sized applications. The Electrodes may be bent, shaped or notched to meet custom, or special application requirements. With this handpieces, Resistance Heat can be applied to prototyping, R&D and even to high volume production soldering applications.

Please reference the General Operating Instructions for American Beauty® Resistance Soldering Systems for more detailed operating instructions and guidelines.

Recommended Power Units: Model 105A3 and Model 105A12
The use of a Footswitch (Model
10519) for ease of heating time adjustments and control is highly recommended.
Replacement Electrodes/Elements: Model 10542 Copper-clad Stainless Steel Electrodes (.078" X 1-1/2"(1.98 mm x 38.1 mm)) (Pkg. of 6)

NOTE: Always keep Electrodes clean and free of burnt flux, oxidation, solder residue and other barriers to electrical conduction by dressing them with a fine grit emery cloth, a fine tooth file or a small wire brush. Replace electrodes that have become to short or badly burnt.

WARNING: ELECTRODES GENERATE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF HEAT WHEN POWER IS APPLIED. USE WITH CAUTION TO AVOID BURNS, FIRE OR OTHER POTENTIAL DAMAGE. DO NOT OPEREATE NEAR COMBUSTABLE MATERIALS NORMAL USE OF THIS PRODUCT IS LIKELY TO EXPOSE THE USER TO SOLDERS CONTAINING LEAD, WHICH IS KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER AND BIRTH DEFECTS (OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM) OR OTHER PROPOSITION 65 LISTED CHEMICALS.
